Spanish football ambassadors.

The morning was part of Inside Modern Football, a Thailand–Spain knowledge exchange in sports science and modern football hosted by the Faculty of Sports Science with the Faculty of Political Science and the Chulalongkorn University Sports Center, and opened to students, university staff and the public. The Spanish-Thai Chamber of Commerce was the partner.

Our part of it was billed as Spanish Football Ambassadors: an informal discussion with Spanish footballers playing in Thailand, sharing their professional experiences and their international careers. A faculty moderator, two chairs, and no slides.

So it went where the students took it. What a professional week actually looks like from the inside. How you arrive in a league on the other side of the world and make it work. What changes between Spanish football and Thai football, and what does not. The parts of a career nobody puts in a lecture.

It is the kind of room we want to keep being in. Thai universities are training the physios, analysts and coaches this country’s football will run on in ten years, and the gap between what a lecture hall teaches and what a dressing room is like is exactly the gap we are useful in.
